  • Recycling Poster Contest Winners Announced

    More than 100 students from five Fauquier County Public Schools participated in the Fauquier County Recycling Committee’s poster contest aimed at promoting awareness and educating students and the community about recycling.

  • Cyber Security Academy Application and Informational Meeting

    Applications are now being accepted for the Cyber Security Academy. This four-year program is offered to incoming freshman who will attend Liberty High School. The program will focus on the evolving and all-pervasive technological environment with an emphasis on securing personal, organizational and national information. The Cyber Security Academy will feature cross-curricular courses with a Cyber Security emphasis, workplace readiness skills and certifications, and Cyber Security-related extracurricular and co-curricular community activities. Students can pick up registration packets from their school counselors. Applications are due by April 22, 2019

  • 2019 Teacher of the Year Nominees Celebrated

    At its Feb. 25 meeting, the Fauquier County School Board honored 18 teachers, all of whom have been nominated to be Fauquier County’s representative in the Washington Post Teacher of the Year competition. A selection panel will choose one of the 18 teachers to be the Fauquier County Teacher of the Year, and that teacher will be entered into the Post’s Teacher of the Year competition. The Fauquier County Teacher of the Year will be announced later in March.

  • School Board Actions 2-27-19

    The Fauquier County School Board met Feb. 27, 2019, and took the following official action out of closed session. The School Board voted unanimously to authorize the Superintendent and his representatives to explore purchase options for the property discussed and authorization to agree to a reasonable market purchase price contingent upon School Board approval.
