  • FCPS Announces Plan for Additional Makeup Days

    Fauquier County Public Schools will use banked hours to make up for the next five days missed due to inclement weather. Superintendent Dr. David Jeck announced the plan at the February 18 School Board meeting. Banked hours are instructional hours accrued beyond the state requirement and may be used to offset days missed.

  • Eighth-Graders to Attend Academic and Career Fair

    Fauquier County Public Schools career and technical education (CTE) and high school elective programs will host eighth-graders at the Academic and Career Fair on Feb. 26, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Fauquier High School. Students will rotate through 14 CTE areas and seven academic areas to learn about the courses available to them as they enter high school.

  • Music Resources Available for Review

    Teachers, administrators, parents, and other interested stakeholders are invited to an open house to review K-5 music and possibly high school music theory resources recommended for adoption and to be implemented during the 2019-2020 school year. Anyone interested may drop by the Library and Media Services Office (formerly the Teacher Resource Center) located in Central Complex Building A at 430 East Shirley Avenue according to the following schedule:

  • iSTEM Academy Applications and Informational Meeting

    Applications are now being accepted for the iSTEM Academy. This four-year program is offered to incoming freshman and current students who will attend Kettle Run High School. The iSTEM Academy is a program that focuses on cross-curricular courses with a STEM emphasis, workplace readiness skills and certifications, and STEM-related extracurricular and co-curricular community activities. Students can pick up registration packets from their school guidance counselors. Applications are due by March 15, 2019.
