  • FCPS Earns Top Special Education Rating

    Fauquier County Public Schools earned the top rating from the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) for improving outcomes for students with disabilities and for compliance with the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The school division received a total performance grade of 95 percent based on 2017-2018 data —the best rating the school division has ever received for serving students with disabilities.

  • BB Pistol Found at Fauquier High School Incident Under Investigation

    Today, Friday, September 27, 2019, Fauquier High School (FHS) staff and the school resource officer (SRO) received an anonymous tip about a suspicious item in a closet near the cafeteria. FHS staff and the SRO searched an unsecured custodial closet and located a BB pistol.

  • Windy Hill Foundation and Fauquier County Public Schools Awarded 21st Century Community Learning Grant

    MIDDLEBURG, Va. —On August 15, Windy Hill Foundation and Fauquier County Public Schools (FCPS) were awarded one of 28 grants by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) in the amount of $149,740 for the development of a 21st Century Community Learning Center. The grant money will allow Windy Hill Foundation, in partnership with FCPS, to create the Horizons program serving children who live in the Windy Hill Community in The Plains and Marshall and their neighbors who attend W.G. Coleman Elementary, Claude Thompson Elementary and Marshall Middle schools.
