Return to Headlines

Welcome back

On behalf of the faculty, staff, and administration of Auburn Middle School I would like to welcome everyone to the 2020-2021 school year!  Our faculty and staff are eagerly awaiting the return of our students and have been hard at work planning and preparing for the upcoming school year.  Even though the how, when, and where will look and sound different, the who and why will not.  As a collective group, we are committed to the process of providing our students a quality educational experience that further enhances their growth and development as young men and young women.

Many lessons have been learned over the past five months for providing instruction through the virtual model.  We have made a concerted effort to reflect upon such experiences in order to improve upon the methods and best practices associated with effectively managing and delivering virtual instruction.  It is still a work in progress, and we will most likely face additional challenges along the way, but the plan we are putting together stands to make the 2020-2021 school year a quality experience for all.

Earlier this week a message went out to our school community that included basic information about the start of the school year.  In addition, grade level welcome letters were electronically sent out yesterday morning that included different pieces of information, which should help guide students and parents through the process of accessing virtual classrooms.  I am also including this short video (https://youtu.be/hS3G84YfHWE) that will assist students/parents with logging into, and accessing Blackboard and Google Classroom.  Please be sure to follow up with the teachers mentioned in the welcome letters if you need additional information or assistance with accessing virtual classrooms.

In order to make the upcoming school year a success I believe that we will all need to be empathetic, patient, and resilient.  Such virtues, combined with open lines of communication between school and home, will provide the foundation necessary for us to maximize the learning opportunities that will be occurring at Auburn Middle throughout the school year!

Go Wildcats

Sincerely,

Josh Miller
