A special Thanksgiving message from Dr. Major Warner

A special Thanksgiving message from Dr. Major Warner

Dear FCPS1 students, families, staff and community members,

During this season, when we take extra time to give thanks, it is easy to find reasons to be thankful here in Fauquier County. We started this school year with the theme "A New Chapter" and every day I am inspired by the commitment to growth and improvement from our students, families, and staff.

Thank you, teachers, staff, and administrators, for inspiring students with engaging instruction. You give your time – so much of your time – because you believe in your roles as educators of Fauquier County Public Schools, and it shows every day.

Thank you, parents, for working as our partners in education by providing valuable support and contributing to the success of our curriculum, instruction, extracurricular, and athletic programs.

Thank you to the members of our School Board for your unwavering dedication towards enhancing the educational opportunities of our students, placing them at the forefront of every decision.

Thank you, students for sharing your limitless enthusiasm for knowledge. My visits to our schools have truly been inspiring. Student artists have shared their work with me, budding scientists have explained their experiments, athletes excelled during competitions, and our musicians displayed their creative talents on and off the stage. The creative talents and hard work never cease to amaze me.

As we express gratitude for our loved ones, let's not forget the importance of giving back. Many schools have partnered with organizations to collect clothes, food, toys, books, and other essentials for those in need. I encourage you to reach out to your local school and find out how you can make a difference this holiday season. You may also consider sponsoring a FISH Weekend Power Pack and help a child in need of food support. Whether it's donating your time, resources, or financial support, every contribution counts.

I am genuinely thankful for being a part of this one-of-a-kind school community. I wish you and your loved ones the best, and please know that I am extremely thankful this Thanksgiving season for each one of you. As we turn the page on this "New Chapter," I am excited to see what the future holds for all of us. With each passing day, I am more convinced than ever that we have the power to make a positive impact in the world around us - and I can't wait to see what we will achieve together.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Dr. Major Warner
