FCPS Launches New Mobile App
Fauquier County Public Schools announces the release of its new mobile app as the division continues to expand its community engagement project. The new mobile app is available for Android devices, iPhones and iPads. To download, visit your App Store (iTunes), (Google Play) and search for Fauquier County Public Schools. Please note: If you have the old FCPS mobile app, please remove it before downloading the new one.
The mobile app offers a feed of division news and events with photos and links to the division’s website. Users can customize the app based on information they would like to receive. Additionally, push notifications can be set up for users to receive school and division news, school closure announcements, calendar changes, updates on late buses and district Twitter feeds.
“Our new, official mobile app empowers anyone in the community to stay connected and up-to-date on the information that they want and need directly from their mobile device,” said Dr. David Jeck, division superintendent. “It’s another example of our commitment to communication. I’m excited about how the new app will help us communicate more effectively and hope it leads to a stronger, more connected school community overall.”
Reminder: Staff, parents and community members who have the old Fauquier County Public Schools mobile app on their phone should delete it before adding the new one. For instructions on how to add the new mobile app, please go to www.fcps1.org/mobileapp.
Please stay tuned for the release of the Blackboard Learn connection as the final piece of the FCPS community engagement project. The addition of Blackboard Learn to the mobile app will provide access to assignments, grades and class announcements.
