Principal's message

Greetings Wildcat Nation!  On behalf of Auburn Middle School’s faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year!  We are excited about the journey we are about to embark upon together as a school community and are looking forward to seeing 600 plus smiling faces, on an everyday basis, beginning tomorrow morning!

We are hopeful that the information that was sent previously has helped to answer questions about the opening of the school year but as always please feel free to reach out to the school if there is a need for additional and/or different information.  We are committed to providing as up to date information as possible ahead of the school year and as the school year moves forward.  Since sending out information yesterday, we have received a couple follow up questions so I thought I would take this opportunity to provide additional clarification:

Student Handbook Information – please click on the following link in order to access/review student handbook information.  It is important for all members of our school community to be made aware of the information, and expectations, that we have in place for our students, staff, and parents.  This same information will be discussed throughout the first days of the school year as well as grade level assemblies, which will take place sometime within the first couple of weeks of the school year.

Physical Education - per the information that went out yesterday afternoon/evening, we do plan to have students dress out for PE this year and students will have access to the PE locker room in order to dress out this school year.  We have devised a plan to manage the number of students in the locker rooms at one time.  The PE teachers will be reviewing this plan with students over the first few days of school and will be sending out follow up information as necessary.

APP Permission Form – once again this school year we have put forth efforts to streamline the permission form process.  We are asking parents to complete, and submit, the app permission form by/before August 16th.  You can access the form by clicking on the link below…

Breakfast and Lunch – once again this school year breakfast and lunch will be provided to students each day of the school year.  Breakfast is available to students between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM.  Students will be eating lunch during one of our six lunch shifts and teachers will be working with students in order to make them aware of which shift they will be eating.

Student Arrival/Dismissal – students will be able to enter the school building beginning at 7:00 AM.  Any/all students arriving before 7:15 AM will be required to report to the school’s cafeteria where they will remain until 7:15 AM.  At 7:15 AM, students will then be moving to their HR class.  All students will need to be in the HR by/before 7:25 AM.  All students will be dismissed at 2:27 PM this school year.  Faculty and staff will be in place to assist with both the arrival and dismissal of students.  We are once again anticipating long drop off/pick-up lines so please plan accordingly.

I am proud and privileged to be serving as principal here at Auburn Middle School and I am very excited for the amazing school year that our students are in store for this school year!  I would like to thank all members of our school community for their ongoing support, patience, and understanding as we get back to better!
