School Support Council
The School Support Council is a group of representatives from each school in Fauquier County Public School system. The representatives host public forums, throughout the year, to bring information to students, families, and the community on school related topics. Founded in 2001, the group has four formal objectives;
- To facilitate communication concerning school division information with parents, students and the community
- To establish a forum for issues from parents to the council for discussion with the superintendent and the school board
- To ensure that the parent positions on policy and procedures are represented
- To receive complete and accurate information from the school division administration and the school board to schools, parents and community
Forums are held on the third Thursday, of selected months, at 6:30pm at Fauquier High School in the Falcon Room. The forums are presentations by professionals who inform, advice, and answer questions on given topic. Representative survey families at the beginning of each year to poll interested topics for the forums.
